Fillings

Fillings can protect your teeth from further decay and help keep them healthy for years to come.

Fillings are made of various materials, depending on the size and shape of your dental restoration needs. Fillings seal holes in teeth caused by fractures or decay, restoring damaged and decayed teeth to acceptable function and esthetics. Carefully applied dental fillings can protect teeth from further decay, helping ensure that they remain a healthy part of your smile for years to come. Tooth decay acts like a fire in your mouth – treating small dental issues early with proper techniques can prevent small flaws from growing out of control.

Fillings are a great way to get your smile back on track. Let us show you how we can help.

Giving you a healthy, long-lasting smile is our priority – it’s what drives us. We use a range of dental filling materials to restore your teeth to full health, making it look and feel like new. At Home Care Instructions

When an anesthetic has been used, your lips and tongue may be numb for several hours after the appointment. Avoid any chewing and hot beverages until the numbness has completely worn off. It is very easy to bite or burn your tongue or lip while you are numb.

It is normal to experience some hot, cold & pressure sensitivity after your appointment. Injection sites may also be sore. Ibuprofen (Motrin), Tylenol or aspirin (one tablet every 3-4 hours as needed for pain) work well to alleviate the tenderness. If pressure sensitivity persists beyond a few days or if the sensitivity to hot or cold increases, contact our office at Kevin T Maskell DMD, Dental Arts of Tucson Phone Number 520-327-5661.

You may chew with your composite fillings as soon as the anesthetic completely wears off, since they are fully set when you leave the office.

If your bite feels uneven, if you have persistent pain, or if you have any other questions or concerns, please call our office at Kevin T Maskell DMD, Dental Arts of Tucson Phone Number 520-327-5661.
