Dental Hygiene Therapy is foundational to all the care we provide at Dental Arts of Tucson. It’s never “just a cleaning.” Our Registered Dental Hygienists work in concert with our dentist to determine the baseline of your long-term oral health, and we customize the level and frequency of care to your demonstrated needs. We want to help you keep all the bone and gum tissue that supports your teeth. “Gum recession” does not have to be a fact of life.
Most importantly, we take the time necessary to help you develop skills to care for yourself effectively at home every day. We can see the results of ineffective techniques before you can feel them or see them. We are dedicated to making sure you feel comfortable with the toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss. And we make sure you are trained and comfortable using other tools customized to your unique circumstances.

The American Dental Association recommends individuals with healthy teeth and gums have their teeth cleaned twice a year, but diabetic patients and pregnant patients should have their teeth cleaned more frequently to prevent further periodontal issues.
Dr. Maskell cares about your and your family’s health. While there are many dental products on the market that are meant to help protect or correct your teeth, some can be harmful to your health. Chemicals like Bisphenol-A (BPA) are still widely used in sealants and to make resin-based dental restorative materials and are toxic to your overall health.
